Chemical Peels
& Facials

A spa day doesn’t have to be exclusively about luxury. Our aesthetician services are a perfect blend of relaxing comfort and effective treatment for your complexion concerns.

One of our signature facials is a soothing, pleasant experience, yet you’ll also enjoy noticeable benefits for your skin health.

We also offer multiple chemical peel options for patients seeking a mild form of resurfacing to revive their skin. A light chemical peel can brighten your complexion with no downtime, or a deeper peel can tackle concerns like acne scars and wrinkles.

Learn More About Chemical Peels & Facials

Almost anyone is a good candidate for a facial. The Coolspa Signature Facial is personalized to each patient’s needs, using a combination of procedures best suited for their skin type and goals. This customized facial can be tailored to any skin type and can benefit many common skin concerns. Depending on your needs, we may also recommend other types of facials like DiamondGlow® or HydraFacial®.

Similarly, since there are multiple chemical peels, there is a suitable option for most people. Those with darker complexions or sensitive skin may not be eligible for deeper peels. Light chemical peels are safe and beneficial for almost any skin type. Our experts will select the best acid strength and treatment regimen for your needs.

Chemical peels and facials are fairly simple procedures, though each is unique to the individual. The first step will be an evaluation of your skin, concerns, and goals to create the treatment plan. Peels and facials are often added to other procedures for optimal results.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels use different chemical solutions to remove the damaged outer layers of skin to improve tone and texture. This can reduce hyperpigmentation, acne, fine lines, and wrinkles. Chemical peels can be light, medium, or moderate in intensity and depth.

Light peels use mild acids like glycolic acid, while deeper peels use stronger solutions or higher concentrations. A superficial peel only affects the skin’s surface, clearing the pores. Medium and deep peels penetrate the dermis underneath, allowing them to address deeper concerns like wrinkles, acne scars, and sun damage.

Facials

Our Coolspa Signature Facial involves a combination of procedures specifically targeted to your skin type and goals. This customized combination facial may involve deep cleansing, extraction, oxygen therapy, microcurrent, and ultrasound in order to provide the best possible therapy for your skin.

Facials typically only affect the epidermis, so they won’t treat deeper issues. However, regular facials can exfoliate and hydrate your skin to keep it soft and radiant.

Most facials and chemical peels are quick, “lunch break” procedures that take an hour or less. Facials and light chemical peels don’t require topical anesthesia and should be comfortable. For a peel, your skin will be cleansed, then the chemical solution will be applied for a specific amount of time and then removed. For a facial, a device may be used for pore extraction or ultrasound, and then we may apply a beneficial skin serum.

Some medium and deep chemical peels may require topical anesthesia. You may feel stinging or itching while the solution is on your skin. After removing the solution, we will apply cold compresses to the skin to soothe any discomfort.

Facials and light peels involve little to no downtime. If they are performed in conjunction with other treatments, there may be side effects or recovery time from the other procedure. Mild to moderate chemical peels have some downtime and are usually performed as a stand-alone treatment or in a series. Our skin experts will review your goals with Dr. Rapaport to design the perfect treatment regimen to meet your needs.

After a facial, there are usually minimal side effects. In fact, your skin will likely feel softer and more hydrated after the treatment. A light chemical peel typically causes minor redness, dryness, and flaking. Dr. Rapaport’s team will give you aftercare instructions, such as moisturizing your skin and avoiding certain skincare products. Limiting sun exposure and wearing sunscreen while your skin heals is essential.

Your results will depend on your customized treatment plan. Generally, facials and light peels produce a clearer, brighter complexion, and deeper peels can improve skin texture and tone. You may need multiple facials or peels for your ideal results. Patients often get monthly facials to keep their skin glowing. Similarly, we may recommend a series of chemical peels for the best results. Some deeper peels only need to be done once, however.

If needed, we offer several other non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments. Our other popular resurfacing options include microdermabrasion and dermaplaning. These may also be incorporated into your chemical peel or facial treatment for maximum results.
