Sculptra® sets itself apart from other dermal fillers by using poly-L-lactic acid, a safe and biostimulatory material. When injected, it stimulates collagen production, strengthening and reinforcing the skin’s structural foundation. This leads to increased volume for a healthier, more youthful appearance.

Unlike traditional fillers, the effects of Sculptra® develop gradually as new collagen forms over time. However, once fully established, these results tend to last longer than those of many other fillers. By encouraging your skin’s natural rejuvenation, Sculptra® delivers a smooth, natural look.

At Rapaport Plastic Surgery, our experienced injectors will meet with you prior to treatment to understand your goals and develop a personalized plan. Most patients report only mild discomfort during the injections, comparable to a small pinch. We also offer numbing cream and Pro-Nox™ (laughing gas) for added comfort.

The injection process usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, during which a series of Sculptra® injections will be administered to the targeted areas. Your injector will prioritize your comfort and answer any questions you may have throughout the session. Afterward, we’ll provide ice packs to help reduce swelling.

You can resume your daily activities right after your Sculptra® injections. While you might experience minor bruising, redness, or swelling at the injection site, these effects typically fade within a few days and can be easily concealed with makeup. You will also receive instructions to gently massage the treated area daily to help distribute and activate the filler.

During your consultation, our skilled injector will assess how much collagen your skin needs to achieve your desired results. Most individuals benefit from two to four Sculptra® sessions spaced one to two months apart, though your specific needs may vary.

Once fully established, Sculptra® results can last up to two years, which is longer than many other dermal fillers. To maintain your smooth, sculpted appearance and support ongoing collagen production, we recommend an annual touch-up session.

For specific lines and wrinkles, injectable neuromodulators like Botox®, Dysport®, Jeuveau, Xeomin® and DAXXIFY® may be a better option.
