Clear + Brilliant® can also be a good maintenance treatment to preserve the results of a more aggressive procedure, or it can complement other skin rejuvenation options like microneedling and chemical peels. While moderate to severe signs of aging may require a more intensive treatment, Clear + Brilliant® is often a convenient option for minor wrinkles and sun damage.

Clear + Brilliant® is a fractional laser, meaning the laser energy is broken into small beams, treating only a fraction of the skin instead of being fully ablative. Clear + Brilliant® removes approximately 20% of the skin’s surface, leaving the rest intact to promote faster healing. This makes it a gentler option than fractional lasers like Fraxel®. 

Partially resurfacing the skin with a fractional laser treatment helps clear away damage and encourage cellular turnover, renewing your complexion. Simultaneously, the laser energy heats up the dermis to increase collagen production. Collagen helps keep the skin firm and smooth, reducing wrinkles.

Before your Clear + Brilliant® laser treatment, your provider will cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort. Once this has taken effect, we will guide the laser device over your skin as it delivers two wavelengths of fractional energy. The intensity of the treatment can be adjusted for your unique needs.

The laser treatment itself takes less than 30 minutes. You may feel warmth, prickling, or tingling. Afterward, we may apply a cooling serum or mask to soothe the skin. This entire process takes approximately one hour.

Clear + Brilliant® has minimal downtime and side effects. Typically, patients take a day or two of social downtime. You may experience minor discomfort as the numbing cream wears off, which can be alleviated with cool compresses or over-the-counter pain medication. Most patients have minor swelling and redness that lasts a few days, similar to a bad sunburn.

You can minimize inflammation and promote healing by keeping your skin moisturized and avoiding harsh skincare products, strenuous exercise, and heat exposure during recovery. Limiting sun exposure and wearing sunscreen while your skin heals is essential.
