What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a 30-minute procedure that uses the body’s own regenerative response to gradually restore the skin’s memory and underlying tissue support.

How does the Ultherapy procedure work?
Similarly to other ultrasound procedures, a smooth applicator is placed on your skin. An image is then projected onto a screen, allowing your practitioner to plan where the rejuvenating energy will be directed. After precise targeting, your practitioner uses the applicator to deliver low levels of focused heat below the skin, leaving the skin’s surface undisturbed. Your skin responds to this energy stimulation with the growth of new collagen.  A gradual tightening occurs, resulting in a natural lift of the skin over time.

How is this procedure different from other non-surgical skin tightening therapies?
Ultherapy is the only non-invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that uses ultrasound for skin sculpting. The ability to use this trusted technology allows for the treatment of the most relevant and responsive tissue, which ensures both safe and satisfying results.

What does it feel like?
Comfort level varies for each person, but it is highly unlikely that you will need medication for pain during Ultherapy. Many patients describe the sensation as momentary pricking or heat beneath the skin. This feeling comes from the ultrasound energy being delivered into the tissue, which is how Ultherapy lifts and tightens the skin.

What can I expect afterwards?
There is no down-time with this procedure so you are able to return right away to your normal activities. There are no special measures that need to be taken. The treated skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after the procedure, but any redness should disappear in a matter of hours.

What kind of results can I expect?
The regenerative process is initiated after one treatment. The full effect is expected to build gradually over 2 or 3 months.

In the FDA clinical trial 90% of patients had a noticeable and significant lift of the brow line.  This resulted in reduced skin laxity on the eyelid and a more open, youthful look to the eyes overall. Patients reported firmer, tighter better-fitting skin in other areas of the face and neck as well. A non-invasive procedure to give the dramatic look of surgery does not exist yet, but finally there is a non-invasive approach for significant skin tightening and actual lifting.
